Mounting a Disk on Windows¶
After you attach a volume in the client area, you need to create a partition and file system in Windows before you can use the disk. Formatting removes any previous data on the disk, if present. New virtual disks are usually empty and require one-time formatting on first attach. The steps below assume you are signed in with administrative rights.
Creating a Partition¶
- Open the Start menu and search for Create and format hard disk partitions (Disk Management).
- Select your second disk in the list.
- Right-click the Unallocated space and choose New Simple Volume.
- Complete the wizard and finish with Finish.
Windows creates the partition, file system, and mounts the volume automatically on your Cloud VPS.
