Features¶
Bare Metal in Delta Cloud¶
Bare Metal from Delta Cloud is a physical server with guaranteed resources, without a virtualization layer. Each server provides an isolated environment with full control over the hardware, hardware RAID, multiple disks, and a rich set of management tools in the client area.
Tip
In the Delta.BG client area, you can easily manage your Bare Metal servers — from power control and rescue mode to reinstalling the operating system. See details on how to order the service.
Advantages of Bare Metal in Delta Cloud¶
-
Fully physical resources
Each Bare Metal server has a physical CPU, RAM, and disks that are not shared with other customers. The absence of a hypervisor eliminates virtualization overhead and provides maximally predictable performance.
-
Multiple disks and RAID
Support for multiple physical disks and hardware RAID allows you to build a reliable storage system — RAID 1 for mirrored storage of the system disk, RAID 10 for a combination of speed and protection, RAID ⅚ for large data volumes.
-
Hardware isolation
Your server is completely isolated from other customers — at the hardware level. This guarantees the absence of the "noisy neighbor" effect and is important for applications with regulatory requirements or sensitive data.
-
Full administrative access
You get full root/Administrator access to the server via SSH, Remote Desktop, or the built-in web console. Install any software, hypervisors, and fully configure the environment to your needs.
-
Unmetered traffic
Network traffic to and from the server is unmetered — no data transfer charges apply. Physical network cards allow separating public and private traffic, as well as configurations with bonding for higher throughput or redundancy.
-
Easy management
In the client area, you can manage the server's power, enable rescue mode, and reinstall the operating system — all from a single interface, without the need for physical access.
-
Remote rescue mode
In case of an operating system issue, the server can be booted into a rescue environment directly from the client area — no physical intervention required. Suitable for diagnostics, file recovery, and configuration correction.
-
Built-in web console
Get remote access to the server directly from your browser, without the need for an SSH client or additional tools. Useful during network issues or when working in rescue mode.
Typical Use Cases¶
-
Large databases
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and other DBMS with large data volumes that benefit from direct disk access and the absence of a virtualization layer.
-
Virtualization platforms
Install your own virtualization platform (Proxmox, VMware ESXi, KVM) and run your own virtual machines on a physical server.
-
Game servers
Game servers with low latency requirements and predictable CPU performance.
-
Analytical workloads
Big Data and machine learning workloads that require constant high compute power and large storage capacity.
