Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is Server-Side GTM and what is it used for?

Server-Side GTM is a fully managed hosting service for Server-Side Google Tag Manager. It allows tagging (tracking) to be executed on the server side instead of in the user's browser, improving privacy, performance, and data quality. For more information, see Introduction to the service.

What is server-side tagging and why does it matter?

Server-side tagging is a method where tracking code runs on a server instead of in the user's browser. This gives you full control over data shared with third parties, improves privacy, and increases cookie durability. For details, see What is Server-Side Tagging?.

What is the difference between client-side and server-side tagging?

With client-side tagging, tags run directly in the user's browser, meaning all HTTP headers and cookies are shared with tool vendors. With server-side tagging, only the necessary data is shared, improving privacy and control. For a detailed comparison, see Client-side vs Server-side Tagging.

Do I need technical expertise to use the service?

The service is designed to be accessible even for users without deep technical knowledge. Configuration only requires entering the configuration code from Google Tag Manager. Tag management is done through the familiar Google Tag Manager interface.

Ordering and Activation

How do I order Server-Side GTM?

You can order the service directly from the client area or from the official page on Delta.BG. Choose a plan, region, and fill in the service details. For detailed instructions, see Ordering and Activation.

Is the Essential plan really free?

Yes, the Essential plan is completely free and doesn't require a credit card. It includes 10,000 requests per month and is activated immediately after completing the order.

What plans are available?

There are five plans: Essential (free, 10,000 requests), Starter (1,000,000 requests), Starter Plus (2,000,000 requests), Boost (5,000,000 requests), and Boost Plus (10,000,000 requests). See current pricing on the ordering page.

How long does it take to activate the service?

For the free Essential plan -- activation is immediate. For paid plans -- the service is activated automatically within a few minutes after a successful payment.

Configuration

Where can I find the GTM container configuration code?

The configuration code is generated in Google Tag Manager when creating a server container. Select "Manually provision tagging server" and copy the code. For a detailed guide, see How to Find the Configuration Code.

Can I change the container configuration code after activation?

Yes, you can change the configuration code at any time from the service page in the "Service Configuration" section. For details, see Updating Container Config.

Can I use a custom domain?

Yes, you can configure a custom domain or subdomain (e.g., gtm.example.com). If you don't set a domain, the service will be accessible through a service domain from Delta.BG. For details, see Updating the Domain.

What is the difference between a subdomain and same-origin?

A subdomain (e.g., gtm.delta.bg) is first-party relative to the main domain but is not same-origin. Same-origin requires the exact same protocol, subdomain, and domain. For a detailed explanation, see Subdomain vs Same-Origin.

Monitoring

How do I monitor my request usage?

In the "Overview" section on the service page, you can see the number of used and remaining requests. In the "Graphs" section, you can view request visualizations for various time periods. For details, see Graphs.

What happens if I exceed the request limit?

If you reach the request limit for the current period, the service may throttle the processing of additional requests. It is recommended to monitor your usage and upgrade to a higher plan if needed.

Support

How do I get support if I have an issue?

You can create a support ticket from the "New Ticket" section on the service page in the client area.
