Glossary

General Terms

Marketplace

A catalog of pre-configured images that launch ready-to-use applications on Cloud VPS servers. The live catalog is available at marketplace.delta.bg.

Image

A disk snapshot containing an operating system and, in most cases, a pre-installed application with default configuration. When a Cloud VPS server is provisioned from an image, it boots into the state the image was prepared in.

Application Stack (or Stack)

A set of related software components packaged together in a single image — for example, a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) or LEMP stack (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP).

Pre-configured

Installed and set up with sensible defaults at the time the image is built. A pre-configured image starts working immediately after the server boots, without additional installation steps.

Category

A grouping of related applications in the marketplace catalog — for example, Operating Systems, CMS, Databases, Monitoring, or Developer Tools.

Deployment

Deployment

The process of provisioning a Cloud VPS server from a marketplace image. A deployment includes ordering the service, creating the server, and letting the application inside the image finish its first-boot configuration.

Provisioning

The automated creation and start of a Cloud VPS server after an order is placed. Provisioning typically completes within a few minutes.

Instance

A single Cloud VPS server provisioned from a marketplace image. Each instance is independent and has its own operating system, IP address, and state.

Licensing

Licensed Image

A marketplace image that requires a paid license for full functionality — currently Windows Server, MikroTik RouterOS, and pfSense Plus. License fees are billed separately from the Cloud VPS subscription where applicable.

Free Image

A marketplace image with no license fee. You pay only for the Cloud VPS resources used to run the server.
