Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is Delta Marketplace?

Delta Marketplace is a catalog of pre-configured images that you can deploy to a Cloud VPS server in a single order. Each image includes an operating system and, in most cases, an application (WordPress, Magento, MariaDB, Jenkins, etc.) that is pre-installed and configured with sensible defaults. For details, see Introduction to the service.

Do I need a Cloud VPS server before ordering a marketplace application?

No. You order the Cloud VPS server and the marketplace image in the same flow — clicking Install on a marketplace application opens the standard Cloud VPS order page with the image pre-selected.

How many applications are in the catalog?

The catalog currently includes more than 50 applications across 14 categories. The live list is available on the Delta Marketplace site.

Pricing

Are marketplace images free?

Most images are free to use — you pay only for the Cloud VPS resources (CPU, RAM, disk, traffic). The exceptions are licensed images such as Windows Server, MikroTik RouterOS, and pfSense Plus, which have separate license fees.

Is there an extra marketplace fee on top of the Cloud VPS price?

No. For free marketplace images, the only charge is for the Cloud VPS service. Licensed images add their license fee on top of the Cloud VPS price.

Ordering and Deployment

How long does it take to start?

The Cloud VPS server is provisioned within a few minutes after a successful payment. The application inside the image may need a few more minutes to finish its initial configuration. For example, a LAMP image needs Apache, MySQL, and PHP to start before you see the Apache welcome page.

Can I change the Cloud VPS plan later?

Yes. Marketplace servers are standard Cloud VPS instances — you can resize them to a larger or smaller plan at any time, without losing data.

Can I take a snapshot of a marketplace server?

Yes. Marketplace servers support Cloud VPS snapshots the same way as any other server. See the Cloud VPS snapshots documentation for details.

Management and Support

Who provides support for a marketplace application?

Delta provides support for the image itself — preparation, provisioning, and the underlying Cloud VPS infrastructure it runs on. The application itself (WordPress, Magento, and so on) is maintained by its upstream project, and its configuration, features, and updates follow the project's own documentation.

How do I find the default password for my marketplace application?

Default credentials are shown on the Cloud VPS service page in the client area after provisioning. We strongly recommend changing all default passwords before putting the server into real use — see Management.

Do marketplace images get updates automatically?

Delta updates the marketplace image catalog so that new servers always start from a current image. Servers you have already provisioned do not migrate automatically — apply operating-system and application updates from inside the server, the same way you would with any other Cloud VPS.

Can I bring my own image instead of using the marketplace?

Yes. The Cloud VPS service supports custom images for advanced scenarios. See the Cloud VPS documentation for details on uploading your own image.

Licensed Images

Which images require a license?

Windows Server, MikroTik RouterOS, and pfSense Plus require a separate license for full functionality. Other marketplace images are free to use.

How do I activate a Windows, MikroTik, or pfSense license?

For Windows Server, the license fee is included in your Cloud VPS subscription and activates automatically. For MikroTik and pfSense, contact Delta support for help with purchasing and applying the license key.
